The captain came to one of the evening shows and was telling us the exact number of guests and crew on board but he was somewhat difficult to understand since his native language is Turkish but it was 2900 plus guests and almost 1200 crew.

The second ship which I don’t recall the name was a similar size ship so one could imagine the possibility of 5 to 6 thousand passengers on the island but it’s divided up in such a way that in the area we were in wasn’t crowded at all. When we walked up to the snack shack for lunch around 12:30 or so the lines were not long at all and plenty of tables were available to sit. Wife had a dog and fries I had burger and fries. Loved the sign that said “watch your food because the birds are”. Paul

How many passengers were on that ship? And you shared Coco Cay with them? That's more people than live in our small city.

I'll put a small ship vs. large ship juxtaposition photo in Exhibition or Pending.

We cruised out of Fort Lauderdale on the Celebrity Reflection with roughly 3000 guests and 1200 crew. A massive ship by Dave’s preference but yet a peanut compared to some of the newer cruise ships that can entertain more than twice as many guests yet.

We were porting in Coco Cay The Bahamas, a private island for Royal Caribbean. I was out on our veranda observing the process because that’s what I do when I realized the hazy sunrise and dashed back inside for my phone so I could capture the moment. The 2nd ship was also making way for Coco Cay and made port. Paul

I'm not sure I would find such a large ship relaxing (my sweet spot is 100-150 passengers).
And I don't like seeing other ships while at sea; I'd rather feel like we have it to ourselves.

At first, I saw this as an island in a large lake like Lake Michigan...but knowing now this is a ship....it is stll an island (of sorts)! Traveller
