Great capture, Traveller. Another from the Getty Center? How long did you have to wait for the escalator (was it going up or down?) to be empty and the light just right?
Such a great song, and so many versions of it to enjoy. Have any of you heard Heart's rendition? Highly recommended!
I always did and still do love that song. Every time I hear it I’m reminded of a new years eve party I was at, neighbors Fletch and Cindy in 1978. Cold and a foot of snow on the ground. Fletch had a beat up old acoustic guitar and this one guy (who I didn’t know) was 1/2 drunk and kept picking it up trying to tune and play it. Of course I played in a band and knew how to play Stairway to Heaven. So after a while I picked it up, tuned it correctly and played about 1/2 of Stairway to heaven. Played, not sang, I couldn’t sing but I could play and after I finished I handed the guitar to the other guy told him to play something. He declined, I didn’t mean to overshadow or intimidate him but apparently I did. Paul.
