Dave - Congratulation, I think. You never know, an upgrade could show up one day if you keep travelling, which is what Delta wants. I board early only because I want to be sure I get overhead space.

Jim, imagine my surprise when one day later (today) I receive an email informing me that I have achieved platinum status. First thought was that it was a mistake (not that I'm unworthy). I have low expectations for upgrades but will enjoy the other benefits.

I want to be the last to board. Who wants to be on a plane longer than necessary? The only reasons to board with one's designated group are to get space in the overhead and lessen the odds of finding someone else sitting in your assigned seat.

Dave - I have a lifetime Platinum status from Delta -- it gets me almost nothing. When I fly, I never see auto upgrades for me or most anyone. First is almost always sold out. I do get to board early, but being older and grey, I could also do that under "early boarding".

My (lowly) silver elite status was just renewed. Automatic upgrades are rare these days. So it's mostly coach for me. I'd rather spend money at my destination than on getting there.

I was in Greece. Then I was in Michigan. Then I was in Ohio. Then I was in Florida. Now I'm back in Michigan.

Bivens Arm Nature Park, one of Gainesville’s oldest nature parks, features nearly 2 miles of scenic hiking trails. These shady trails border basin marshes and wind through a mesic hammock under shady live oaks and towering pines. The park features an observation pavilion with built-in seating overlooking a marsh. The forests and wetlands provide an important buffer between urban Gainesville and the extensive natural areas of Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park.

For various reasons I thought you were in Greece...T
