I read your article and my initial reaction was “good squirrel” of course squirrels are just as if not more destructive as voles. It’s all about survival of the fittest. According to Shawn Woods from Mousetrap Monday, rodents will resort to cannibalizing younger and weaker rodents when they’re desperate. Talk about the dark side of nature! Paul

Death by chocolate?

Memory escaped me so I needed to google Clinton’s obituary and he was 71 in 2014 when his ticket got punched. Clint had the typical barrel shape one might expect from someone in poor condition but damn he was a hard hard worker. He had 10 years on me but yet when we were working a project together he kicked my ass. Paul

How old was Clint? What contributing factors were there, from genetics, which are real, to life style, which is equally real.

I had a much loved cousin who worked in a Southern state for 25 years at a good State Job, retired at 55 and moved himself down to Florida with his wonderful wife. In less than 2 months, Lee was dead on a tennis court from a massive heart attack. This all seemed really unjust to me and yet this seems to be the way of life. Inexplicable. Traveller

Travellers comment about suffering through eating all the chocolates reminds me of one of my old customers. He and his wife were driving from KC to Florida for a few weeks to escape the bitter cold. They bought one of those large Costco bags of peanut M&Ms figuring it would last them for the entire getaway. No, old Clint told me he ate the entire bag on the trip down and he felt so bad he went months before eating any more M&Ms.

Poor ole Clint passed away about a year later from sudden heart attack. Who knows… maybe! Paul

Ooh! They look delicious. And this is one food area where being vegan doesn't spare you from temptation. There's lots of fancy vegan chocolate. We just got a box from a friend, shipped from a fancy chocolatier in Vermont. 'Tis the season.

There's a "chocolate street" in Brussels where you can lose your mind trying to decide what to buy.

I Googled this for you...you can find them at Trader Joe's...

Though I would suggest...lol...white chocolate Kit-Kat's as an alternative.

The video review is kind of strangely interesting also!

Good luck, Traveller

Cachet - I'll have to find some. I took my family on a trip to Belgium years ago. I think it was in Brussels that we did a chocolate tasting challenge, trying hard to find the "best". An almost impossible task. I don't recall Cachet, so I have a good excuse to retest.

While we are on food, some Iranian clients brought me from a famous Iranian restaurant a beef kebob...Yikes, the pine nut humus, the beef, the paper thin bread, but especially the Iranian rice was fabulously tasty...I'm not much of a rice-guy...but Iranian rice was different, even better than a baked potato with Irish butter, chives and sour cream...just straight Iranian rice was very good. Cachet...Premium Belgian Chocolate, the box, not actually a box, the container, has real red ribbon around it...classy...lol...Traveller (ps they were too richly chocolate for me...I would not recommend them, pricey though they be. Still, being too too chocolate.y for me...I suffered through eating them all).

Chocolate sins are forgivable especially if you leave some behind for the priest at confession. No further repentance is needed. Oh, wait, you said you ate them all…. Paul

ALL GONE ???? !!!!! ALREADY !!!! In one day ????

Still a fine shot. Great use of DOF.

Jim

PS - what kind were they? I love chocolate.

They were very good...expensive....but it is odd, they are all gone so I can't shoot this again if I wanted to, but people say, "You've put on some wight, haven't you?"

True enough, and I tell people of my weakness for chocolate, as a bad thing, and this spurs everyone to shower me with chocolate of every form and sort.

Ahhh, life. Traveller

So, is life really like a box of chocolates?
