This is a great image. And a great commentary. I would trust your artistic judgment over Brad Pitt's any day of the week (not just on Free Fridays).

No, this is actually the up escalator to the third floor of the Broad Contemporary...also it is kind of bright and airy...but 3 clicks of contrast and 2 additions of shadow in DP4, then 85% more contrast and black point setting in levels in Photoshop...can make things more ominous...lol (there is no down escalator).

Listen, the idea that all art has to be on the same floor, the same level, and that all art across all civilizations and eras are equal...does not sit well with me. 19th century Mexican Colonial art coupled with Japanese blue wood cuts with Renaissance classicisms just irritates me when shown in the same space. I don't see these forced connections when there was no interaction across time or space.

That David Geffin's 200 million dollar contribution is more valuable than my $80.00 dollars is indisputable....I looked at the building, so far I still don't like it, I don't like it spanning Wilshire Blvd where a truck bomb beneath could do incalculable damage...and I just don't like the look of the building at all.

Of course, next year when the new LACMA opens with less space than it had before with the old (but lovely), galleries, I could change my opinion. But for now, No.

For a better view, from above, see here....and the window substitution, which I predicted has me crazy also.

"Passersby can get a better sense of the new building’s 243 floor-to-ceiling windows, which the museum touts as providing 360-degree views of the city but which have been the source of angst among architecture enthusiasts, as the curved glass in earlier plans has been replaced with linear glass at odds with the arcs of the concrete."

This is such an UGLY building!

I'm guessing now that this is a "moving sidewalk", and T was kneeling down.

And if Brad ever needs legal representation, he'll have to settle for my cousin Shep because T won't take the case.

When one pisses off Big T… he gets payback in his own way. UP YOURS & SCREW YOU LACMA AND BRAD PITT… I’m only coming on free days now. HA HA SUCKERS! Not even buying a coffee or a snack in the cafeteria. Fu(k with me will ya….

I’m right there behind you big guy. I’ve never been in the art museum but have been in the Tar Pits & dinosaur museum. Paul

What a great photo and title.
One's imagination can run wild with this.

LACMA, Los Angeles County Museum of Art...I was there on Free Friday, having surrendered my membership when they decided to tear down most of the old structures and build a billion dollar replacement...if you remember my humiliation being bumped from speaking at a city council meeting to oppose this renovation with Bard Pitt instead speaking in favor.

Gentlemen, I am truly a nobody, but I did have a speaking spot for 1~2 minutes...alas. So I was there to inspect the construction, Spit on the ground and enjoy nevertheless the Picasso Exhibit in the Remaining Broad contemporary Exhibit Hall. Traveller

(I had a fine time, both at the Broad and Resnick remaining buildings...but I disagree with current curation) See also
