10 The White House

Canyon De Chelly

I routed myself on my recent journey home through Canyon De Chelly.
I shot the White House a few years ago from the canyon floor and converted it to B&W in the style of Ansel Adams. It looks great printed on metal.
I wanted to do the same again, but this time from the overlook.
Here it is - the lighting was a little tougher to work with this time.

Very Impressive....the photograph certainly, but more to the point the life you have crafted for yourselves....there is where the true kudos belong; not an easy task for many people...Traveller

Yes. I shot from there on my first visit when I hired a guide and a jeep. This trip was specifically for shooting from the rim road and overlooks.

Awesome Adams. Was the place where he and O’Sullivan shot from accessible to you?

Re rocks - take a look at what Ansel did https://www.anseladams.com/white-house-ruin/

The rocks were a major part of his photo.

The rocks are as interesting as the house. Is the house itself ever in full sunlight? If so, I imagine photographers staking out the moment.
