I'm curious about the source of that other metadata. Added to the photo file by my computer? DPP gives the options of embedding the ICC profile and removing shooting info. The latter doesn't seem helpful for these submissions. Dave

Dave - for what it is worth, your name that you entered in your camera is not attached to the main EXIF that Pbase shows, but is in the other metadata attached to the photo. Pbase just picks that up when you upload a photo and enters it in the Name box. I have to always change mine when I upload a 90D photo. You can strip it out with all the EXIF (at least in Lightroom) when you create a smaller photo for uploading. I choose not to. Most of us enter our name into the camera for copyright protection on a photo. It may slow someone down from stealing a photo you post, but it won't stop someone who is determined. It would be useful if you wanted to take someone to court. Jim

Yes, my full name was the issue. I don't remember removing it from my camera (I entered it for that copyright thing) but see that pbase still has it, so I'm careful when adding my name during the image edit process. Thanks! Dave

I remember now, Dave...on at least 2 occasions your actual name showed...both times I removed your last name, (which oddly, I can't remember now...lol) pretty quickly. It was suggested that you had your name stored in your camera maybe for copyright purposes....but you went into your camera and deleted it...I believe. Your Los Angeles Buddy, (too much information? Dave - the only personal info is what you put in the caption or comments yourself. The camera doesn't have much other than the EXIFs. I don't recall one that you might be referring to. I do know that Paul and T and sometimes me share more personal stories. But that is our choice. Jim

Geeze, I like all the 1's and 2's from the EXIF...(geo-taging may show a bit much, but very little can be learned from the EXIF, except that it is helpful for me and others to know your camera's shooting information)...and besides sometime you get a magical number as you did here: 11-Nov-2022 12:11:11 Now only if the Nov had shown its true 11.ness...pure magic. Take a look at virtually any photo entered and you will see in the very first line the date and time the photo was taken. Mine are the exception, not because I deliberately delete it but the software I use to resize strips it out. Sorry if I’ve made you uncomfortable, I’ll not do it again. Paul.

Am I surrendering too much information in my EXIF? I remember discussing this previously but don't recall what steps, if any, I should take. There's a new crossing coming. I think it's a cable-stayed bridge but am not sure whether it will add miles to my trip relative to the route I take. Dave

Sorry guys I openly admit I’m weird that way and promise I’m not a stalker, just curious and like to dig in and explore by nature. Another example is last week the wife complained the toaster oven wasn’t working correctly, “must be a burnt out element buy a new one”. “Let me dig into it first” I said reassuringly to her. Took longer to open and reassemble than locate and repair the loose connection on the bimetal thermostat creating false heat. Clean and re crimp connections… Done! Paul

I determined the time of day from your EXIF then I noted a distinct difference in the engineering styles of the bridges and I used Google earth to determine your direction of travel using the differences in the bridges. I’m weird in that way, I try to breakdown locations in photos using visual clues. I really get a workout with some of the photos Traveller posts simply because I’ve been to the LA area numerous times and recognize some of the areas he shoots at. Hope you had a wonderful visit with your mother. Lucky you are to still have her in your life. Both my parents and in-laws have been gone for 20+ years. Paul
