13 Texas?

Boulder, CO (not Texas)

I was playing around with my new macro lens and spotted this water drop that looks a bit (to me at least) like Texas. Unlike Texas, it was only about an inch across. This is a 35 shot focus stack, taken handheld and composited in camera (the R7 does that), further processed in Lightroom with one of my favorite B&W presets. This is in my kitchen sink. It certainly doesn't look like that from a normal viewing distance!

Yes, it's only a little bit like Texas. And I'm sure the surface is contaminated! It's certainly scratched. I did try a 25 shot focus stack at first, but it didn't extend far enough back. This was very close and a fairly large aperture. I could have set the steps to be larger.

Don’t see Texas rather a old sock needing some repairs. That looks like a pretty nice lens. Paul

Cool shot. I spotted a leaf this morning that was shaped like a polar bear. We're all seeing things. And they're there.

T- digestive system possibly, electron microscope image - not quite.

I have been looking at this for a while. Interesting in multiple ways. Not sure it needed 35 focus stacks, but it is pretty elongated. The final result is quite nice.

The droplet acts as a small lens and seems pretty transparent. And a droplet of this shape is pretty unusual on a surface like s-steel. Maybe a contaminated surface?

Not texas, this is an electron microscope scan of a digestive system. Nice...T
