I did try other tones. This one seemed closer to the actual color of the cymbal so I went with it. I tried blue but it looked too much like the Paiste color series. I really didn't like it. Not a Paiste cymbal fan. :)

Nice close up.
Did you try other tones?

Cymbals like these rarely need to be replaced. The only reason I bought this one was because my 20 year old 22" Zildjian Ping ride finally developed a hairline crack in it and it didn't have that nice sustained ping anymore. I was going to get another Zildjian but this one was a great deal at my local Guitar Center. It was used but I didn't see a stick mark on it. It was like the guy bought it and then decided it was too much so he brought it back. And quite honestly, I play the heck out of it and I don't see any stick marks on it either. It's got an excellent coating on it. I just usually take a dry rag and wipe the dust off of it before I play it usually.

How often does one have to replace a cymbal? As expensive as they are hopefully not as often like drum heads. I played bass so I didn’t have to replace strings very often especially since I used micro coated strings. Paul
