That's pretty good. Now that this has my attention I'm looking at similar products. The Lume Cube Panel (https://lumecube.com/products/panel-go) lacks the battery (and the potentially long runtime) but is half the weight.

So, the powerpack went down from 99% to 93% to charge the EOS R battery up from 86% to full. Interestingly, the power delivery gradually went down from the initial 6.8W it was showing to around 1W. Maybe it slows down as the battery gets close to full?

I've charged an iPhone from it. I've just plugged it into my EOS R to see whether it works, and so far so good. The charging light on the camera is now on, and the powerpack claims to be delivering 6.8W or 6.9W (it's alternating between the two). My camera said the battery was at 86%, so I'll be able to see how much of the power in the powerpack it takes to get it up to 100%.

Have you used it as a powerpack to charge other devices, maybe even a camera? If so, how did it do?

I charge it from my usual power bricks. It's pretty fast. It also lasts a long time. I think that it's over three hours of light at the highest intensity. One cool feature is that is tells you how much time you have left at whatever setting you have it on. As you dial down the intensity, you see the time remaining go up. I generally use it at about 50% brightness, and right in the middle of the color temperature range (around 4700K). I might play around with different temperature lights at some point, but given that it's easy to adjust color temp in post, I'm not sure what advantage there is to doing it on the light. Perhaps if I were using it for video, I'd use that feature more.

Thanks, Alastair. Looks very handy. Now that I see it, I can imagine mounting it on one of my mini tripods when shooting macro. How do you choose color from the range available? Ditto brightness? And did you opt for the quick-charge adapter, or has it charged fast enough with what you already had on-hand?

Here's the Nitecore light link: https://www.nitecorestore.com/Nitecore-SCL10-Camera-Light-and-Power-Bank-p/fl-nite-scl10.htm

Yes, the M6II has the same focus stacking capability as the 90D. The 2 cameras share a lot of functionality. They have the same sensor, and were released together.

It's the Nitecore SCL10. I was mistaken about the price. It was more like $90, but still pretty amazing for what it is.

I'm sufficiently intrigued to ask which model light. The one I found (https://www.nitecorestore.com/Nitecore-Thumb-LEO-Keychain-Light-p/fl-nite-thumb-leo.htm) doesn't seem as capable as yours.

So the M6 II focus stacks automatically like a 90D?

Thanks Dave. The "rig" is really simple. I had the camera on a tripod, put the bottle opener on a lens cloth on my desk, and simply held a little Nitecore LED light overhead and a bit to the left. I just moved it around until it looked good. That light is amazing. It's the size of a cellphone, doubles as a powerpack, can be adjusted in intensity in 1% increments, and adjusted in color temperature between 2500K and 6300K. I think I paid about $30 for it. It also comes with a bracket for attaching to a camera hot shoe. I use it for most of my indoor focus bracketing.

Impressive result. I'd like to see an image of your rig, including lighting.

Very nice! The perfect scene would it be if the opener was on a bottle of beer, challenging but yet doable. Plenty of time for a reshoot! Paul

A great up close image of a well used opener. A nice variation in color.
