Pemaquid Light at Dawn

This is another experiment with a picture of Pemaquid Light. This picture was taken at dawn; I wanted to see how the delicate colors of dawn would translate into black and white. The A530 really struggled in this light, but I got a little help from Topaz DeNoise before converting to black & white.

Thanks for taking some time with the picture. I think that there are definitely some interesting possibilities with sky replacement but I will leave that to you.

In pending, I placed https://pbase.com/image/170578282 which is kind of what I was thinking of.

This sky is one I just took yesterday.

I think that I am more interested in a peaceful and reflective mood for this picture, not dramatic and tense. Adding drama would make it different picture, maybe interesting in its own right, but different.

If you'd like to try it yourself, go ahead; I'd be interested in seeing what you come up with.

I was not thinking of a simple color replacement, I was thinking of something more dramatic. A dark blue sky with clouds, or even a set of storm clouds would add some interest and tension to this.
I might play with the jpeg later to show you what I mean.

I've never done much with sky replacement. it may work well here; I just don't know. I probably have enough memory of the original's colors that I would not really be able to do a good replacement.

I really like the composition of this.
This looks like the perfect shot in which to replace the sky with one with some clouds. We had a pro talk to our club last month, and he recommended it for shots like this.
