The alter of the Mission San Xavier del Bac -- a National Historic Landmark and the only surviving mission in Arizona.
Work on the mission ended in 1797 when the money ran out. The preservation and conservation work being done aims to keep it as it was in 1797.
We stopped in there and both of us were in awe. Paula being the nice catholic girl lit a candle. I kind of remember taking one of the free candle glasses they were offering.
Very nice entry, might be a illusion but I get the feeling it's listing to the starboard ever so slightly.

T - the chief architect came from Spain, and the lead artists and craftsmen also came from Spain. Much of the bulk of the work was done by local artists from central Mexico.
