Hi-Pickin`

Obviously too slow a shutter speed...also, I had to up exposure 2 stops and, even though iso is 200, I think there is way too much grain underneath this image.

Canon EOS Rebel T4i
1/50s f/5.6 at 81.0mm iso200 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

It was me in "that fun thread". I have no idea why the other poster turned so hostile. I don't recall seeing such behavior from them previously. Maybe I just missed it. I tried to be careful in my responses but wasn't in the mood to take any crap.

I guess I could say the planes that have taken me to various destinations are also extensions of my camera (and they provide, at times, a useful photographic platform).

Gotta take my camera for a ride in my new car. Don't need to post about it, though.

Nice one.
I second the comment that I can almost hear the music.
I went back and forth on the hand movement between guitar and singer, and in the end, decided that if situation required it, the singer hand moving is better for this shot.
Well played.

Personally, I like the hand movement. If I were you, I'd test your camera out on some targets with higher ISO, and the try some of the newer noise reduction software like Topaz DeNoise, Lightroom, or Noiseware. They all do a pretty good job. I bet you could push your camera to ISO 800 and still like the results.

Sounds like your already missing that 6D where iso 3200 would have worked here. I'm wondering if your saying you pushed the exposure +2 in post from raw. If you pushed it post then that's equal to iso 800 and that's your noise source. None the less it's still a great shot and meets the breaking away rule of the challenge and that was my goal, great photo yet still missed a rule or 3. Paul

I was looking for a pause for the guitarist hands because he was what I was shooting...

I wish both had been frozen. Still, I got the nice DOF the image needed.

BTW, was it you in that fun thread, at least I thought it was funny, where you said your car was an extension of your camera...because it got you there.

I thought this was profoundly true...and funny true.

Nice going by you.

Best Wishes, Traveller

I can almost hear the music. Speaking for myself, I'd rather see the guitarist's hand moving than the singer's. Looks like a nice setting for their performance.
