Oh, and when I say re-processed in PS...I mean from the very start as a CR2 file first opened in DPP4.

Thanks, Jim and Paul, but let me say something about Selective Color with B&W...I think that just the difference in the background losing its color, makes whatever color remains or is chosen, that much more distinct.

Here, the mixed lighting and actual red lights make things difficult enough, but in making the balance B&W, skin tones that looked relatively natural in the riot of subtle color gradations in the the original...sudden look very orange.y without other colors around.

This was especially true with Gray Canyons...not the best picture in the world I admit, but it really became something different when I subtracted color from the sides.

I suspect that this is something going on in our brains and how we perceive color and tonality.

This might be interesting for a scientific project.

Now that looks more natural to me, much better. If i'm imagining things and you didn't modify it then it truly is time for me to make another appointment with the optometrist. Paul

re-processed in PS...due to the torch and pitchfork crowd coming to tar and feather me...riding me out of town on a rail....lol...Traveller

The lights are actually red...and I was going for intense color before B&W, so I started with a highly saturated base...I had to skew and tweak this quite a bit because of the hard border lines...which is why I suppose I don't want to start over to see what happens.

And I'm busy....lol

Thanks for the opinion though...you are pushing be towards a do over.

The orange hue is kind of spooky - is the color of the radiating parts of the heaters the same? You could almost call it the cook out :)

Geeze, I was in Costco and looked at this on my cell phone...way, way, off...so I tried again for more natural...

I've played with this a little this afternoon...-8 Saturation and Dodging the subjects at 32% hardness, 50% exposure....this started as an intense color image and only later as a selective color...I think this is more natural...but they were shot under very mixed lighting regardless.

I could start over...

Nah....lol

Wait is that Ivanka Trump?? I thought she was filling as the First Lady in DC for the absent Melania! Paul

This works well. Great title. The selective color certainly pulls the eye into the conversation.
