Here is an interesting Article for you re wildlilfe and especially P-22...I have long argued for an overpass as they have in Sweden and Norway for the transit of animals over these artificial barriers.

Truly, P-22 will die trying to cross the 5 Freeway back to the San Gabriel Mountains proper before old age...She had to cross the 5 to get into Griffith Park...mountain lions die on that most heavy of heavily traveled Freeways from time to time.

I'm guessing that unless an elk dies, (or some other larger animal does) the predators don't have a large cash of food.
So yeah, hunting and eating go hand and hand.

The reason I post so many wildlife shots is because I can't stand taking people pictures.
I've never had an animal debate how or where a photo should be taken.
I've never had an animal disappointed with a shot.
With wildlife shots, the only person I have to please is me, and I'm pretty easy. :D

What I am getting from your images, really your presence in the Challenges...is the idea that....animals have to eat all the time (as do I...lol...way too much)...and why shouldn't they have to?

It must be a tough life.

Until this trip, we knew the coyotes hunted the prairie dog towns, but we didn't know that they sleep in them.
Many times on this trip, we found coyotes sleeping in or near their food.
By finding this one coyote in the tall grass, we were able to find more doing the same as the trip went on.
Getting coyote shots was a lot easier after that.
