The Snake River

(in the foreground)

Yes, I realize that this is not The Tetons and the Snake River by Ansel Adams...but then he wasn't trying to create a good silhouette shot and, secondly...I am not Ansel Adams...;>}}}}

I really like this. Did you wait for days/hours for the shot to come to you a la Ansel Adams? Dave

This would look very nice on a wall, Ansel Adams or not.

Yes, as usual...lol...Paul has it right...my work flow is DPP then Photoshop...and an older version, CS5, so I suppose what is available is the Ruler tool which I never knew existed,,,lol...before you fine gentlemen told me!

Dave I could be wrong but I think Trav's work flow uses DPP for raw conversion and then exports to PS for further editing. Paul.

Just to clarify, the level tool is in ACR/Camera Raw along the top of the page near the middle.

You are using photoshop to edit this, right?? There is a level tool built into PS. I wonder if you are using the correct tool since the level tool is increadbly simple to use. All you have to do when using the level tool is draw a line along the water edge since water always is level and presto the image auto rotates for you then you crop. Paul

There, that's done...not perfect, but much better. Should I overlay a grid before using the ruler tool...? Not to seem to be a dunce, but just drawing a straight line seems to involve guess work also into the process....

Regardless, thanks for calling me on this. I'm learning.

I will fix this....especially now that you have taught me how to do it...lol....but I have plumbing problems today...not for me, but for a landlord I know...sigh, my holidays!

Very nicely done -- fits the challenge well.
I think Paul is right, though. There is a water/land line in the lower middle that could be used for alignment.

I think I'll let you by this time but only since you openly admit your not Ansel Adams.
Might be an illusion but I get the feeling the the image is slightly running downhill to the right. Paul
