Trav, the topic is really difficult indeed when there are no little children of one's own who are of suitable age. Taking pictures of other peoples' children could probably lead to big issues. This is why I found it a very good idea, Susan, to extend the topic to childish things. When we discovered the spiral on the ground during our afternoon walk last sunday this challenge topic came to my mind.
Paul, I have tried for a long time to find out the English term for this game in order to answer your question, but without success. Jim, your comment was of big help, I have looked up Hop-Scotch in Wikipedia, and that is the solution. It is a spiral shaped variant of Hop-Scotch which we used to play as children on the normal, rectangular field.
Dear Gerald: This is a Challenge....and it is sometimes intellectually a challenge as well as photographic. I think I might eventually write an opinion piece on this, the real actual trouble we men contestants had in this challenge. To me, growing up in the 50's, this has been astounding!
But you met the Challenge an conquered it....this is a lovely composition with fantastic colors...and a great good spirited model.
