Don't make me blush, K ;-)) Thank you very much for your, as always, most friendly—albeit once more somewhat exaggerated— words! ~ db.

Elegant and 'professional' look, fabulous symmetry and excellent composition, the artist is recognizable at the first glance.

Thanks a lot, Peter, for providing the link to *your* web-gallery "on the subject". Though—considering myself to be a journalist and therefore, at best, an artisan, not an artist—I am not a big fan neither of ulta-wide images nor of much color saturation, I like the ensemble of your images a lot and think they transmit the atmosphere the temple provides very well. Congrats! (BTW: please let me know when your 70-200 tele-photos will be viewable online.) ~ db.

Wonderful gallery Daniel; thanks for sharing! I agree about the difficulty of photographing the exterior of the synagogue. I'm still putting my gallery from yesterday's shoot together, athttp://www.pkphoto.net/Galleries/Location-Galleries/Central-Synagogue-NYC.
Unfortunatley, I only had the 12-24 with me yesterday. I will return soon with a tripod, and my 70-200 - I love the detail shots you made with your long lens.

Thank your for coming back to this image of mine, Peter. We lived last year for six months practically next door to the Central Synagogue and, nevertheless, I was unable to take not even one single good picture from the building's outside as a whole: too many distracting elements (lamp posts, traffic lights, street signs, parked cars and the like) and no possibility to step back without getting them all into your frame. As far as the Central Synagogue's interior goes, OTOH, the synagogue's administration were most accomodating (and I can hardly imagine any Jewish temple here in Europe where they'd welcome the public a day or two every week to come in and have a look as they do here). That was me again, below, Daniel. I wanted to add: thanks for posting this picture. A few weeks go, while in NYC, I walked by this synagogue, and snapped a few photos from the outside. I resolved to stop in to try to photograph the interior in a few weeks, when I knew I had to be back in the city. That was today. Seeing this photo last week reminded me, and I looked up the hours, etc. and managed to stop in today. I'll try to post a shot in Eligible tomorrow.

Many thanks for those friendly words, Anonymous and Jim: I sure am glad you do like the image! (BTW, Jim: You're absolutely right to mention the processing: it was the most difficult part here...) ~ db.
