4th--Yellow Bus by Najinsky

Rayong, Thailand

I got my camera wet getting this one. For some reason the Thai manager of this Yellow Bus depot objected to the camera and gave me a quick spray with a hose before telling me not to take photos here!

Fortunately the OM-D is weather sealed.

Michael, the lens isn't, but as it's focus by wire (with a well sealed ring) and wears a permanent hood, I don't think it minds a splash or two. A bigger concern is the lack of a Pro glass servicing programme, I've got nothing but praise for Canons Pro glass servicing programme, but have found nothing comparable for expensive 'consumer' M.43 glass which makes me feel slightly 'out there' because all my good glass has needed occasional servicing. Brave new world.

Seems an over-reaction from the bus man, but it's a shot that was worth the wetting. As you said, the camera is weather sealed (but I don't think that lens is!).
Best wishes for your plans. You're a very creative person. Regards, Michael

Traveller, I'll be in the UK in November, but if you are in Thailand (or Asia) outside of that we should definitely meet up. Will be fun. Perhaps courage, more likely foolishness, but seeing loved ones grow old makes you realise time is precious. 30 years solid work and the end of a draining 10 year contract made me realise I'm not getting younger and the time for realising dreams is now.

Shu, photography will be an important part of it, but not exclusively. I'm developing some iApps and have started writing four books. I'd also like to do something nice with music and video sometime before my toes point skyward for the last time. However, whenever I start to plan ahead, something unexpected usually comes along and shows me where I'm really supposed to be going. My plans are usually mere distractions.

are you going to be focusing solely on your photography? shu

Guts, guts and courage, that's what you got...to cut oneself free from their prevailing culture for another is....a tremendous leap. I am impressed and happy that you could do this...I could not.

Good luck....I suspect I'll be back over in Thailand within 6 months myself....maybe we can have dinner, maybe not...life is so...diverse...lol

Be Good, Traveller

Thanks for the comments, appreciated.

Traveller, chances are I'll be spending around six months of the year in Thailand for the foreseeable future. I sold my business in Europe but still have family and friends there, so I'll spend a few months in Europe too, but my focus at the moment is on Aisa, Australasia and Ociania, so Thailand is an easy choice for a base to explore these parts of the world. Just have a couple more pieces of admin back home which I've pencilled in for November and then I'm free!

A very fine capture. I like the bright buses and reflections.
