quite a sad story -- this is what i meant when i said it's hard to find the "pearls" in the many scenes we look at. but you have found them in this place, my friend! shu

Troy, be careful what you wish for. This scene is actually in the grounds of the Luang Prabang hospital! And trust me, it's not a place I'd wish on anyone. The rooms were grimy and looked like the disinfectant had run out many years ago. The air con was broken and people were walking around dripping in sweat, coughing and spluttering, and that was just the doctors!
A friend had been sick for a few days, and showing no sign of improvement I took her to the hospital where she spent the day on a drip to rehydrate after being diagnosed with food poisoning. It was the kind of place you wondered if people came out worse than when they went in!
I stayed with her, but took a stroll around the grounds every hour or so to stretch my legs. I hadn't brought the 5D with me, but the X100 happened to be in my pocket.
