The mind makes allowances for even major aberrations because it sees what it expects to see as long as it can make sense of the context. It sure worked on me, but then I'm easy. What distracted my eye was what I took to be a celebratory holiday mood of fine silverware and the light star in the center. -tv

Well done, Michael. You really enjoy playing these optical tricks on us, don't you? And you always make them look so effortless!

Post processing is perfect, but I'd expect that from you. Hold on a second, I gotta find my hat so I can give you the old tip of the fedora.

Well, I certainly didn't anticipate that the "oddity" in this image wouldn't be seen. You all have very keen powers of observation as is clear from your images over the years. Interesting that the mind corrects for what's wrong here...thanks for the fun! -Michael

Thanks, Olaf! I didn't get it until you made a point of saying you had! It still took me a minute of looking at Michael's image before it hit me! Subtle, Michael, very subtle but wonderful! ~Sharon

Sneaky. It took me a while to "get it" - I must admit - I didn't see it at first : ) What I did think before I "got it" was that you could've used "grandma's linen" to add a bit of context to this... After I got it? - Well, it's a Puff alright!

yes, mr.puff! i've got the rest of this place setting for my very own still life comp!! i.e.the salad fork, the teaspoon and the dinner knife. LOL minimal still life, elegant in its simplicity. shu
