This was actually shot from the deck of the Staten Island Ferry, near the end of a beautiful October day when Tom (tvsomething) was our guide for a day-long photo shoot to some of his favorite spots in Lower Manhattan. I know that an image of the Statue of Liberty won't resonate with everyone, but all four of my grandparents entered the U.S. through Ellis Island (which is nearby) in the early 20th century, so it has special meaning for me.
