Traveller you are mis-interpreting what I am saying. I'm not just talking about DOF but the hyperfocal point. According to the charts at 10 mm and F13 the DOF starts at about 8 inches and goes to infinity. Since the hyperfocal point is 1/2 for DOF start then if he has placed his focus point at roughly 16 inches (about where I'm guessing that flower head might be) then it would have been in focus also. I suspect he focused on the blades or the generator and that moved his focal point farther than it needed to be.
Not a chance, he's already at f13....f22 ain't going to do much more. Lovely as is...of course, the comment is only my opinion that Hyperfocal can only do so much, espc when you're both close and far. Traveller
I love wind generators, and that blue sky and the low cumulus clouds are a nice addition. I think if you had used hyperfocal focusing you could have caught the flower heads in sharp focus too.
