Hi Paul, thanks for accepting the comment in the positive spirit it was intended, but please do not bother to do re-shoot just for that reason. I was scraping the bottom of the barrel to find something to offer as a suggestion. I think it is really minor - and it is highly likely that many others may disagree with me altogether! Regards

When I first started shooting this I was attempting to make the bowl not visible in the shot, just the reflections. Then I slipped up and had my flash angle to low and caught the bowl. I was in the process of hitting the delete button on the PC when I thought "wait I like that". I think Nico is right and I may try to shoot again and add more light on the side.

At first glance I thought that it was flambe candy - clever idea using food color. - Kelly

Cool! Thanks for the explanations - and I think you efforts paid of really nicely. Interesting idea - the food colouring one. I like it! The reflection also works well. Perhaps it need a fraction more fill on the left-hand side of the bowl, but otherwise a splendid addition to Eligible. Regards Nico

I added food coloring to the ice for color and texture. The fuel is a cotton ball soaked in denatured alcohol. I first attempted to just pour the alcohol on the ice but it's too cold and will not sustain a flame for more than a few moments.

The flame isn't really as wild as it seems since it is a 16 second exposure. I would gently blow on it and then as I'm sure you can tell hit it with a hand held snooted flash at 128th power from more than one angle. Paul A.

Very nice Paul....but two questions...why does some of the ice have color? and 2nd. what is burning...(at a furious rate?) Traveller
