Sorry sorry sorry... I misunderstood. I really thought the ban would be for explosive type fireworks only.

However, being quite a pet lover myself, I actually would be delighted if such a ban would also exist in South Africa.

Kind regards

Nico

Nico, what you don't realize is that every city in Johnson County where I live outlaws every kind of fireworks. Yes even the time honored well loved sparklers. Some cities allow snakes and caps, poppers and snappers are also allowed. $25.00 to $100.00 fine.

Many thanks, Paul. I just wanted to clarify that there were definitely no explosive fireworks involved here, merely one of those sparkler thingies which kids like to wave around - a type of hand-held firework that burns slowly while emitting colored sparks. A type of firework, yes, but nothing explosive at all.

I stood behind the vase, just about directly in the view of the camera and simply waved this sparkler around in this type of pattern for a couple of seconds, whilst the shutter remained open.

That looks like fun, if I tried that where I live i'd get arrested. So we may be in jail at the same time, me for using illegal fireworks and you for stealing a red vase. Paul A.

Lots of energy in this, the multitude of sparkles make for interesting fun photos.
