Not actually, these items were used to make lead ball shot, I believe....I just liked the apple and carrot acting almost like a mortar and pestle...the title existed when I saw this set up; the image came secondarily...which is why I can't take Olaf's suggestion...this isn't about glass necessarily, it is about the chance to use the phrase....Apothecary Magik....lol (and I think the image quite fetching in its own right). Of course, Lead Ball Shot is an ultimate cure for all Melancholies, ahem.
Back lighting is what makes glass so much fun, that and of course its reflective qualities. So was this the pharmacist's table?

My eye is drawn to the second glass container from the left - that is definitely the most interesting "glass" in the photo - due to the way it catches the light and distorts its contents. I know you have an affinity for the wider view, but is there more to be gained than to be lost by a daring crop?
