still not back in eligible?? once again, your "creation" (and that's what it is, created from elements) was made during the proper time frame. as far as i'm concerned, this challenge should be about using one's creativity to make images that are unique and fresh and perhaps inspire some folks to think with originality. shu

oh baloney, michael--MOST of this image has been shot during the challenge period!

imo, this image belongs in "eligible," having been "created" during the proper time frame!! shu

Folks, Najinsky's question made me tune into the fact that the face images were shot outside of the challenge period. While the main still-life image and the compositing was done during the challenge, the faces come from older images. My apologies that I didn't really think about this before posting in Eligible. The rule for a composite is that all images must be shot within the challenge period. Ergo, I'm moving the image to Exhibition. Again, my apologies for the oversight. -Michael

Thanks all, the piece was great fun to create.

Najinsky, no the faces were not shot specifically for this piece. I looked through dozens of my images containing faces to choose those expressions. No time to really shoot all those portraits in a few days. -Michael

As odd as it sounds I like this much more as untitled. The genius and mastery was always there of course, but I didn't really understand what the title was getting at and so it stopped me simply enjoying the beauty of the image. I really really like it now!! Were all the faces shot specifically for this image? The expressions are just so perfect for the image. Great achievement. Regards, -Najinsky

Untitled does work here....but do remember that I advise you and think of everything you do as being hung in a major gallery....and the people there are, good certainly, but also can be bitchy and snobs.

I know I'm not your editor or agent...but I do think of myself this way in reference to you.

A certain protectiveness, (smile)

Thanks Lee, Sharon, Traveller.

Traveller, hmmm...and that's the reason I generally prefer "untitled" as a title. I don't like titles to carry their own baggage. I wouldn't want to give an impression of "preciously intellectual", that's just not me. I would rather the viewer brought to the piece her/his own impressions without a title. You've cemented my view that the vast majority of images I create should remain untitled...thanks :-) -Michael

I rather like the choice of background also. Nice in all regards...Traveller (what the heck, this is the winner anyhow so I can say...."Genesis?" Like in fractured beginning? This in the title seems a little too high...minded (?) elitist (?) preciously intellectual? Well, maybe it's just me...I think I'd just prefer, and this is just me, Morning or something simpler. Sorry.
