Many thanks Najinsky for detailed comment. "The left section of water" is of course, water, but in the form of snow :-) This is why it is white

The B&W really shows off what a strong and dramatic composition this is. I think it will work equally well in B&W but this conversion doesn't quite work for me. The right foreground grass and left section of water seem too bright for the mood of the image. If it were mine, I'd experiment with reducing the exposure slightly and then working with the shadows and emphasising the mid-tones contrast. But still a wonderful composition. --Najinsky

Many thanks, everybody. I see that opinions are divided. I am not sure too :-)

Actually, I am not a fan of B&W in general, but I do like this version better. The colors are beautiful, but this one focuses my attention on the grass in the foreground and its texture. Very dynamic composition. - CameraShy09

Actually, on second thoughts I'm not sure. That sky is pretty impressive. Regards, Michael

Dramatic but I prefer the colour version as well. Interesting as to why this is?

Perhaps the detail is not as well defined?

Nice, but in this case I think I prefer the colour version. Regards, Michael
