He's a character alright :)
Really like how you framed the shot. Tight yet balanced. Great detail and bokeh.

Thanks for the comments. After the sunset challenge was announced, our islands entered a 10 day period of thick cloudy sunless sunsets (I rarely do sunrise). The announcement of the dry challenge brought persistent rain! At this time of year we get visited by Mallards for about 6 weeks, two Males and a Female. They waddle up to the house looking for/demanding food.

It was pouring rain and I got the thought, 'water off a duck's back' into my head for the challenge (if you look at the gallery link below, you'll see why). So I decide to try shooting them from inside the house and with off camera flash. I liked the shots I got in terms of colour and detail and was going to post one, but the following day the weather dried up and I got this shot. I like the expression and it shows a dry back and so perhaps fits the challenge better, although I prefer some of the flash shots from the day before.

Good capture and color. Nice soft background. His expression does make you wonder what he's thinking. - CameraShy09

I think it's saying.... "if you don't get that camera out of my face I'll.....quack quack quack!" (actual comments edited...lol)

Love the expression, good take on the theme. ~ Regards Bob

Nothing more dry than a duck's back. Clever idea and a handsome model. Regards, Michael

The direct stare from your low level of view....makes this outstanding. Best Wishes, Traveller
