Nice toning and colour - and well planned for the sun line. Regards, Michael

Thanks everyone. Sorry I have been so late in replying, but I have been out of town. I shot this one specifically because I saw the sun line on the left side of the ship, and I hoped it would create an artistic element all by itself. This was a first attempt to use raw processing, and I think I should try again, to bring out a bit more of that sun line.

Regards,
Charlie

This certainly demonstrates that we don't need a "beautiful" bright sunset in order to make a good sunset photo. The monochromatic colors here are very effective in creating a mood. Well done, Charlie.

Wow, an amazing image Charlie, lots of elements in this image.

Your choice of aspect ratio (Portrait rather than landscape) gives me the impression of three distinct photographs stacked, one upon the other; the mountains with cloud formation; the ship upon a calm sea; and.. a sea scape with mountains.

Obviously the lens at the time restricted your wide angle (70mm min.), to me, this cries out for an ultra-wide angle shot.
