The hell with monohulls. Screw foils. And hard-wings belong on airplanes. THIS is real sailing. Yeah, they're slower than the new toys, but so what? Speed is relative. It ain't about how fast you get there; ... it's HOW you get there. These Etchells 22 boats are a treat to sail. Super-sensitive to trimming. Get the trim wrong by half an inch, and they are dogs. Get it right, and they take-off like crazy. And, like all real racing sailboats, you can SEE the effect of the breeze.
