Everyone loves the pictures and the dedication you show catching the daily action in SF. Keep up the great work and continue enjoying yourself out there. I don't have to tell you that it is pointless arguing with idiots do I. You already know they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience?

Reply to Gioni: The lense I use for most of these shots is the 50-500mm Sigma EX, which is rather slow. Depending on the light conditions, the blur settings can run from 1/45s to 1/10s. I've found that using 1/10s at 5.6f, 100ISO usually works best with the Sigma SD9. Any slower and the image usually "doubles" in some places. I try to hold focus on one area; ...the tip of the board, the feet, hands or face, and pan the shot. Depending on the location I'm shooting from, and the direction of travel of the surfer, I'll use either a monopod, or hand-hold.

Reply to Mangina: "Your jibberish is lame" ...so's your spelling. ;) My comments in some of the galleries are just basic descriptions of the conditions, usually written at 4 in the morning while I'm loading the photos. If ya want prose, make a donation. Big Bucks = Big Words.

Enjoyed the blur shots - were you experimenting with different exposures? What seemed to work best?
