Like I've told you before: Some are just glances into a fast dissapearing world, so... aren't you glad that you were there?? ;)) Congratulations

Christine, elsewhere I`ll answer you with more detail.Here I want to say I did not say your Gallery was average, but very good. Also I did not said monuments, land marks, are what define the mood of a town.But your reply you did what I was in doubt about you got or not the mood of a town. I live in Porto, I very well know this market. It is famous in Portugal, as vendors are the typical Porto`woman, They are open, friendly, they speak using all the words of our language, if they fancy or think it is the occasion they will tell just what they think, to me or to the President of Republic.They have done this before.In your words I feel you express the very mood of Porto town. Thanks for your reply, please, do not feel sad with my comment. After all, I just told you about my doubts.I never doubt of your quality.Before this I already had select you in my short favorite photographers. Kind regards jorge

A beautiful gallery, Christine, a mixture of expressive art and lasting memories. As you say, it is not intended a travelogue or reportage. It leaves much to the imagination of the viewer, as it should. I feel that you have given us a very intimate and personal tour of your own mind here. Just as it should be.

Jorge, I am not a photojournalist. These pictures portray some of the things I saw, felt and experienced as a tourist on a tour bus with my high school in March. I never intended to portray the “real” Spain/Portugal as you feel it when you live there, but it gives you an idea of what I noticed and felt as a visitor. It is a gallery about my trip, and my personal sensorial and emotional experiences during that trip. It is true that some of these pictures could have been taken somewhere else. When I was there, I had little opportunity to mingle with the “natives”, except in the market in Porto where my teacher and I got lost and spent a lovely afternoon and made friends with some amazing people. These pictures are real, not invented. Maybe most Portuguese living in Porto go to more modern supermarkets today, but these people were really there at the market, it was not the tourist season, and their customers were locals. My only intention by posting these pictures was to share my experience and my enthusiasm. I experienced it as a visitor except in Porto where I felt something more personal. Could it have looked the same if it would have been in France or Italy? Possibly. I did not see it in France, but I never been to Italy. As a local, you experience your city differently. There are things I saw and you don’t see any more because they are so much part of your environment. On the other hand, there are things I cannot feel because I don’t live there. I could have made more “touristy” pictures with cute houses and known public buildings, but this is not my style, in Portugal or elsewhere. It is hard to be told by a Portuguese that the experience I enjoyed and portray here does not correspond to your reality, but it certainly corresponds to what I felt and saw within a few days as I was there. My experience in Spain was very limited, but I thought I really enjoyed Portugal. I loved these women at the market. They were real.

I spend time looking over and over this Gallery.I was without a final opinion about.Still am . One point I have no doubts:very good pictures. You did an Art job, you did take much care of the photo details.But, here is my doubt, I do not recognize if this gallery is in Portugal, Spain, Greece, France.It is not in Scandinavia,or USA, indeed. But Spain or Portugal are not that evident.If this was your purpose , fine.Anyway, do not take my words as a critic, I´m not certain of my feeling, that´s all. Regards jorge
