The Clutching Claw

And the raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;
And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming,
And the lamp-light o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted - nevermore!

I get so bored with ordinary bird pictures, birds flying, birds perching, birds paddling, birds perched.....etc. At last, a different bird picture! Really tough to show black on black, and this photo does it really well. The story is concentrated in that foreground claw. As an experiment, you might see how you like it if you crop the top of the image down to just that one claw with all its interesting details -- and, with nothing but an overall, symbolic, black background.

This is a great image - of all the ways you could have framed/composed this - you chose well (very well) - V
