Thousands line the street of Paris for Johnny Hallyday's funeral.
Little known in the UK, he was the greatest rocker France has ever seen.
We saw him in concert several years ago, he was amazing.

M. Macron and M. Sarkozy plus many other well known personalities attended the service in Madelaine.
The cortège, escorted by several hundred bikers, left the Arc de Triomphe, down the Champs ÉLysées, via Place de Concorde and onto Madelaine.

I had heard of him, but not really his music. He was a bit like Cliff Richard in some respects, wasn't he? But then there are certain English speaking countries where he is hardly known too!

He certainly was a popular entertainer, though I admit I've never heard of him.
