A week in the Peak District, which encompases the northern part of Derbyshire together with parts of Cheshire, Greater Manchester,
Staffordshire, West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire. It is usually divided into the Dark Peak in the northerly area, where most
moorland is found and the geology is gritstone, and the more southerly White Peak, a limestone area, known for valleys and gorges
that divide the limestone plateau.

Although the name suggests a mountainous region, it is characterised more by rounded hills rather than craggy mountains.
The Peak District National Park was the first of the United Kingdom's national parks, being thus designated in 1951.
