St David's Cathedral, Pembrokeshire, Wales

A monastic community was founded here by Saint David, Abbot of Menevia, who died in 589.
The cathedral was built originally the 1180s, but suffered a number of problems, including the collapse
of the tower in 1220 and earthquake damage in 1247 - 1248. The buildings were enlarged, modified and
restored numerous times during subsequent centuries.
