Castelrotto parish church, also known as the “cathedral on the mountains”, is dedicated to the apostles Peter and Paul.
A characteristic feature of the church is its free-standing church tower, one of the highest in South Tyrol.
The free-standing bell tower was built between 1756 and 1758 after the old Gothic church had been severely damaged by fire in 1753.
