Liverpool is a city and metropolitan borough of Merseyside, England. It is the fourth largest city in the United Kingdom (third largest in England). It is the birthplace of The Beatles. The 56-km Liverpool and Manchester Railway was the first passenger railway in the world, which was opened in 1830.

利物浦是英格蘭西北部著名港口城市，為大英國協第四大城市（英格蘭第三大城市，僅次於倫敦及曼徹斯特）。昔日利物浦是英國著名的製造業中心，該市最被廣為人知的是其為「披頭四」樂團誕生地。連接曼徹斯特與利物浦間的鐵路，全長56公里，是全世界第一條運輸乘客的鐵路（於1830年開始營運）。
