Every Australian large city and quite a few large provincial towns, have traditionally staged their own 'Royal Agricultural' Shows.
Today, the word 'agricultural' has disappeared from the title, as Australia relies far less now on its rural produce, and the farming content of the shows has become small scale.
The main attractions now are the colour, the noise, the rides and sideshows, and the many ways of parting young people and parents from their money. Still, it's a colourful day out, albeit an expensive one.
I took my niece and nephew to the show one sunny Friday, during my stay in Perth, and here are the photos I took with my Pentax K200D and Tamron 18-250mm.
