Timaru - birthplace of racehorse Phar Lap, Canterbury, South Island, New Zealand / Aotearoa. Photos by Cheryl Ridge.

There is a Phar Lap statue at Seadown, birthplace of the legendary racehorse on 4 October 1926.
Another statue, a life size bronze of Phar Lap and jockey Jim Pike (by sculptor Joanne Sullivan Glesser)
is at the Phar lap Raceway at Washdyke, Timaru. It is surrounded by information plaques.

I have a seperate gallery dedicated to the array of Pharlap merchandise & memorabilia I've collected over the years.
