I'd dreamed of seeing budgies in the wild since I had a couple as pets as a youngster. Whilst they were relatively common in Central Australia,
they are so quick and those that werent flying were high up in trees. But I did get lucky near some waterholes. Also sadly on the trip
one flew into our windscreen and got stunned - I hope the pretty little man survived. We drove back and picked him up off the road and found a shady log to put him on.
