I turned up late on Friday afternoon to camp for the night ready for a sailing course the next day.I was surprised to see hundreds of people on the banks of the lake which is normally only populated by a few sheep. I was informed by the campsite owner that the weekend I had chosen to stop was the Buttermere charity Paragliding festival. The next 2 days was full of aerial displays by Para gliders helicopters and a Giro-copter. The Night air was filled with music as live bands played until the early hours of the morning. It wasn't why I chose to go to Buttermere but hey , what a great weekend it turned out to be.
