The Hunter

Another photo in a photo post.

I could not post tonight because my subscription had ran out. It has to be the first time I have ever had to really think hard about renewing since joining Pbase. To be honest my decision to do so was purely driven from the people using PBase and not the web site its self.
I have been spending a bit of time on some rival sites and although they knock spots off Pbase in their design and use, they don't come with the same camaraderie that PBase does.
I hope the owners of PBase are aware of how many people are renewing based on other users and not on the design or usability of the web site.

Its a dangerous game they are playing from a business point of view, I stayed this time, but in 12 months who knows. Come on PBase 12 months to spruce things up. PLEASE! JUST DO IT.

Agree with the others - glad you're staying, I'd miss your pics Kev...fan-dab-i-dosy capture of the master fisher at work...keep it up!!

I'm with you on your comment, Kevin, though I have to say that another reason I stay with Pbase, (despite the site's obvious weaknesses), is the fact that virtually every image I've ever sold, (and there have been quite a number), has been as a result of being on Pbase. I've been on Usefilm, SmugMug and Photopoints and I'm currently also on Flickr, Photo.net, Facebook, and my own web site, and none of them close in terms of sales. If that's a factor for you and others I can only recommend using the keyword option for each of your pictures ~ it certainly works for me.

As for this shot ~ excellent work, my friend. (V)

So glad that you stayed Kevin, but I agree with you about the problems with the site. The Pbase community is great; the powers that be aren't...
Great shot! 500mm lens ~ wow, you're so lucky! :)

Grand shot with the new toy.. still pondering one! As for PBase - not sure, if they whizz-bang it, it might just end up another flashy bells & whistles site with no soul...

Dont think they look, listen or care, it's the people who post and comment that keep this site running as a great community, stunning use of that 500mm again.

Yep , spot on Kev , I would miss everyone too much to leave though....

It is a tough decision and agree with your reasons ... I too have researched a few other websites but stay for the same reasons ... nice image!

Quite the master too.

Well said, I've just renewed mine for the same reasons, and nearly didn't also for the same reasons.
