The Grossglockner High Alpine Road opend 1935, the most famous of all alpine roads ends before the highlight of the Hohe Tauern National Park: the highest mountain and the largest glacier in Austria, the Grossglockner (3,798m) and the Pasterze.On the way there you will experience a 4,000km journey to the Arctic. On the ascent from 1,500m to the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe, you pass through all of the vegetation zones from the cornfields to the eternal ice.
