Cherokee Rock Village

Cherokee Rock Village is near Leesburg, Alabama. It sits on the Shinbone Ridge of Lookout Mountain and overlooks the Coosa River Valley and Weiss Lake. Locals call it “Little Rock City” and climbers refer to it as “Sandrock”.

I first saw some photos of the area maybe a year ago and have been wanting to make the trip ever since. Several trips got put off for one reason or another but I finally made it Tuesday. My brother-in-law rode shotgun and we had a great trip. Here is Cherokee Rock Village through my lens:
