We decided to take the scenic route home through Bayou La Batre, Coden, and drive out to Dauphin Island. Storms set in. There were flashing "Danger - Rip Current" signs. I guess they were warning about the surf, but I thought we might get ripped off the road.

We stopped at a convenience store and there was a huge whirlpool in the parking lot. I remembered Jason and his Argonauts and Odysseus as they fought with the giant whirlpool Charybdis. It looked big enough to swallow Crackerbox Palace but we put up a good fight and made it home.
