LBJ's Air Force One Half

Stonewall, Texas

A JetStar that flew in and out of Lyndon Johnson's ranch when he was vice president and president in the 1960s. The 13-passenger Lockheed plane is sometimes referred to as Air Force One Half.

The National Park Service rescued the 50-year-old JetStar from the Pentagon's "bone yard," an open-air retirement home for more than 4,400 old planes in Tucson, Ariz.

Interesting that he had such a small plane, too, although I assume it could land at the ranch, which wouldn't be possible with Air Force One. V.

Very informing Charlene never knew he had his own Jet this is nice looking and looks to be well taken care of and preserved for history purposes.
Nice hanger for his jet.

Great shot of this little plane. I had never heard of it before or about LBJ's use of it. I have been to the place in Tucson, so I am glad they moved it here where everyone can see it. ~BV~
