The Strand is the pathway that runs the length of Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach, California.
It is a shared walkway for walking, biking or roller skating.
The path is lined with private residences except near the downtown section of Hermosa Beach where there are some restaurants, a motel and a hotel.
My favorite place for breakfast fronts this walkway.
As many times as I've walked this path, I only recently noticed this tree. There just aren't any trees.
As you can see, the houses are very close together with no yards, just small patios as you see here unless you have a corner lot.
