This is a community center in Hermosa Beach originally built around 1935-37 along with a stadium and a lawn bowling green.
I like it's Art Deco style. Something was going on there on this day but no signs out to indicate what they were doing. It is available to rent for events and meetings.
Interesting bit of history: the stadium behind it was offered as a potential new home to the newly arrived Dodgers baseball team in 1957. It had been recently remodeled, but the seating capacity was 250, so I think the mayor must have been joking.
The Dodgers didn't bite.
Famous writers such as Rod Serling and Ray Bradbury made speaking appearances in front of aspiring writers at regular meetings in the early years of the Southwest Manuscripters group held in the Clark Building.
The building is right across the street from the greenbelt in previous pictures.
